Doris Ann Quillen
Doris Ann Quillen, age 76 of South Shore, Kentucky, was called Home on September 26th, 2026. She was born in Waddy, Kentucky in 1950 to John Watts and Kathryn Bradley Neal. Doris was a kind-hearted soul that loved taking care of those around her. No matter your age, she would ask you if you brushed your teeth, applied your deodorant, and remind you to check that your doors were locked at night. Her gentle spirit and caring ways were always on display in her many years spent serving as an LPN.
Doris loved her family, and there is a large contingent in that category. She was married to Larry Dean Quillen for a total of 56 years, which is quite the impressive feat as anyone would tell you. Through pleasant and unpleasant, they took care of each other. Doris had two children. Brad Quillen, who has the gift of gab, and Amy Quillen-Soul, who has the gift of intelligence. She had two grandchildren, whom she adored and loved. Aubrey Gracyn Quillen (Brad) and Cooper David Harwood Soul (Amy), whose qualities seemingly flipped from their parents.
Doris had many siblings that she loved as well. Her older brother Ronald Watts and his wife Ida May. Her sisters, Pamela Lange and her husband Mark, Kimberly Guckert and her husband Michael, Tammy Wynn and her husband Mark. She loved her brother-in-law Larry Offenberger like a brother as well. She was not a huge fan of technology outside of Bose speakers and Bluetooth capability but found her way into the world of Facebook and enjoyed seeing the pictures of her grandchildren, her many nieces and nephews, and their children as well. Doris was a picture person and took a lot of joy in seeing everyone’s escapades and travels.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother Kathryn Neal and her sister Patty Offenberger. Her family takes comfort in their reunification and the thought of them being together again.
Doris is going to be greatly missed by her family, but by the Kroger Corporation too. Doris loved her coupons and had zero problems meeting spending requirements to get any amount off. An avid fan of yard sales and good deals, she was yard sale cool before I Break for Yards Sales was ever conceived as an idea. Her kind, gentle soul is going to be missed, but she is where she is supposed to be now. Doris was a devout fan of the Trio (Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt), so the next time you catch one of their songs, turn it up just a little bit louder and know that Doris is at peace reunited with her Heavenly Father, mother, and sister.
