Donald Leslie Davis

Donald Leslie Davis, 79, of York, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.

Don was born November 12, 1943, in York, Kentucky, the son of the late Alfred and Leona Osborne Davis. Don was a 1961 graduate of the former Wurtland High School and earned a master’s degree in accounting from Morehead State University. He was a retired accountant for Ashland Oil, INC. and a United States Vietnam Army Veteran. Don later raised blueberries on his farm for over 20 years. He was a member and deacon of Greenup First Baptist Church and a former deacon and member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Don was a devoted family man to all his family. He loved spending time with and going to his grandchildren events. He was so proud of all his grandchildren. Don was very loving to everyone.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Loretta Faye Haney Davis; a son Donald (Amy) Davis of Findlay, Ohio; a daughter Tina (Bobby) Hall of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; two sisters Helen (Earl) Spears of Argillite, Kentucky and Carolyn Lewis of Covington, Ohio; five grandchildren Elizabeth Faye Davis, Hannah Davis, Jordan Morris, Trever (Ronni) Mullins and Austin Mullins; one great-grandson Hudson Mullins; several nieces and nephews. Donald will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Monday. November 28, 2022, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Steve Evans. Burial will be at the Davis Cemetery at York, Kentucky. Military rites will be performed by Marine Corp League Greenbo Detachment # 1345. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
