Diana Cook-Laney, 76, of Greenup, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 4, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Diana is leaving behind a profound legacy of family, faith, and cherished memories. Born on October 14, 1949, she was the beloved daughter of the late Virginia and Thomas McConnell.

A woman of faith, Diana was a dedicated member of Honeywell Baptist Church in Greenup, where she found great spiritual community and peace. Above all, her greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted mother and a proud matriarch who created a large, loving family tree that spans multiple generations.

She is survived by her six loving children: Tommy (Teresa) Cook of Greenup, Kentucky, Tammy (Bob) Sizemore of Greenup, Kentucky, Terry (Elaine) Cook of Greenup, Kentucky, Jerry Cook of Raceland, Kentucky, Tina (Kenny) Potter of Greenup, Kentucky, and Sarah (Shawn) Johnson of West Portsmouth, Ohio.

Her memory will also be deeply cherished by her 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, who brought immense joy to her life. Diana is also survived by her sister, Sue Sizemore of Wurtland, KY, and her brother, David (Donna) Bradbury of Greenup, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Rita Lewis, and Barbara Adkins.

A celebration of Diana’s life will be held to honor her memory and the love she shared with everyone around her.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm, Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Danny Brown and David Bradbury. Burial will be in the McConnell-Lawhorn Cemetery in Greenup Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
