Cheryl Dean Trent, 73, of Otway, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her residence in Otway. Cheryl was born February 3, 1952, in Williamson, West Virginia a daughter of the elate Carl and Helen Thompson Compton. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved working as a vendor at the 23 Southbound Flea Market among many friends. She was a lover of all things Halloween, dressing up as a witch and passing out candy brought her joy. She loved to throw parties for the family “Down South”. Cheryl had a great sense of humor and would do anything for those she loved. She was her happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years Floyd Trent Jr; three sons Billy Call of Delaware, Ohio, Danny (Michelle) Call of Delaware, Ohio, and Jason (Lyn) Call of Delaware, Ohio; one daughter Priscilla Maurer of Delaware, Ohio; three brothers Danny Compton, Jim Compton, and Bobby Compton all of Ohio; five sisters Sheila Compton, Ann Browning, Wanda Compton, and Barbara Compton, Brenda Compton all of Ohio; two sisters-in-law Rhonda Cassidy and Mary Blankenship; twelve grandchildren Clarence Slone, Cierra Call, Dominique Call, Cassie Call, Aubree Maurer, Blair Call, Taylor Call, Presley Call, Olivia Maurer, Zane Call, Elijah Maurer, and William Call; and ten great grandchildren.

I am saddened to hear about Cheryl’s passing. I knew her from her hospital visits, and she always made me smile. Her outspoken and humorous personality always made my day. She will certainly be missed.
