Chase Allen Downs

Chase Allen Downs, 34, of Flatwoods, Kentucky passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, in Owenton, Kentucky. Chase was born November 16, 1988, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of Philip and Cindy Lee Downs of Flatwoods, Kentucky. He was a 2007 graduate of Russell High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Raceland and a member of the SONS of AMVETS Post 95. He graduated from University of Northwestern Ohio with a degree in High Performance Engineering and a degree in Welding. Chase was named an ambassador for the college. He was a kind, loving, and gentle man who was loved by everyone. He touched many people’s lives with his kindness. He was a wonderful son who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother John Nicholas “Nick” Downs of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; his son who is due to arrive in December, John Cain Downs; fiancé Katie Smith from Owenton, Kentucky; his Fiancés children Salem Drennen and Steele Caldwell both of Owenton, Kentucky; three aunts Johnda Cantrell of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Pamela Douglas of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Dolly Patrick of Greenup, Kentucky; and his beloved dog Derringer.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Minister Charles Wayne Blevins. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Garden in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Friday. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
