Belva Mae Brown, 92, of Wurtland, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026, at her residence in Wurtland. Belva was born August 2, 1933, in Greenup, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Homer Wilson and Zetta Sturgill Stephenson. She was a member of Worthington Church of The Nazarene. Belva retired from Bellefonte Hospital after working for many years as an LPN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nathan Curtis Brown; two brothers Herbert Wayne Stephenson and Roger Underwood; three sisters Shirley Jean Hill, Bonnie Fierro, and Ethel Ward; one son Mark Anthony Brown; one grandson Shannon Michael Brown; two great-granddaughters Tala and Hannah Jones.

She is survived by three sons Michael Curtis (Jody) Brown of Bessemer City, North Carolina, Randall Keith (Dinah) Brown of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Gregory Allen (Greta) Brown of Versailles, Kentucky; one daughter Peggy Hicks of Wurtland, Kentucky; two brothers Joe Stephenson of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; Larry (Sally) Stephenson of Wurtland, Kentucky; one sister Lois Sizemore of Wurtland, Kentucky; one daughter in law Janice Fisher Brown Townsend; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and church family.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Rev. Steve Melvin, Rev. Denver Prater, Rev. David Robirds, and Rev. Lyle Hamilton. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Bryan Ward, Bruce Ward, Aidan Merchant, Nathan Brown, David Easterling, and Tyler Easterling Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Monday.
