Alma Toney

Alma Toney, 89, of Wurtland, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Trinity Station in Flatwoods, Kentucky.

Alma was born November 2, 1936, in Wurtland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late George William and Stella Morris Grubb.

Alma was 1954 graduate of the former Wurtland High School and was a member of the Plaza Church of the Nazarene. She was district secretary for the Church of Nazarene for many years, a position that she took great pride in.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Albert Toney; six brothers Chester Grubb, Phillip Grubb, Willard Grubb, Donald Grubb, Jimmy Grubb, and Roger Grubb; a sister Janice Webb; four half-brothers Edward Grubb, Cecil Grubb, Clarence Grubb, and Leslie Grubb; a half-sister Nellie Stringer.

She is survived by a son Paul Allen (Michelle) Toney of Georgetown, Kentucky; a daughter Teresa Scaggs of Wurtland, Kentucky; a sister Mary Cordle of Argillite, Kentucky; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor James Muncey. Burial will be in the Heaberlin Cemetery in Wurtland, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:30am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
