George R. Carter

George R. Carter, 82, of Flatwoods, Kentucky passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at his home surrounded by his very loving family. George was born January 2, 1938 in Chattaroy, West Virginia a son of the late Lovell Harris and Georgia Ann Pack Carter. George was a retired painter for CSX railroad and was a member of the Moose Lodge 701 in Ironton, Ohio. One of George’s favorite things to do is play euchre.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Lowlo Lou Carter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Loretta Palmer Carter; two sons Ricky Ricardo (Kim) Carter and Arick Shayne Carter both of Flatwoods, Kentucky; a daughter Sherry Valetti (Rick) Bartalis of Middleburg, Florida; a brother Larry Neal (Brenda) Carter of Middletown, Ohio; two sisters Lovelo Georgia (Ray) Burkhardt of Wurtland, Kentucky and Gale Storm (Aaron) Harris of Greenup, Kentucky; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew.

A private family graveside service will be conducted at the McGuire Cemetery by Bro. Jim Daniels. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup have been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.
