Jerry Dale Compton, 80, of Greenup, Kentucky formerly of Dallas, Texas passed away Friday, May 21, 2020 at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
Jerry was born November 23, 1939 in Wolfe City, Texas a son of the late Ernest Alvie Sr. and Cletta Woodruff Compton.
Jerry was a retired Dallas City Police Officer with 45 years service and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was avid hunter and outdoorsman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Gay Leep Compton, one brother Ernest Alvie Compton Jr., one sister Letta Merle Conger and daughter, Lisa Searles Nichols.
He is survived by one son Brent (Vanessa) Compton of McKinney, Texas and one daughter Lori Hoskins of Galveston, Texas; ten grandchildren Chase Compton of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Breanna Compton of Dallas, Texas, Kayley Searles of Dallas, Texas, Keaton Searles, of Terrell, Texas, Kyler Searles of Forney, Texas, Kohl Searles of Arlington, Texas, Kennedy (Danny) Sanchez of Terrell, Texas, Lauren (Matt) Bares of Santa Fe, Texas, Chase Griffin of Hitchcock, Texas and Winter Hoskins of Galveston, Texas; six great grandchildren; three sister in laws Carolyn (Earl) Samples of Kenova, West Virginia, Maria (Robert) Bodamer of South Point, Ohio and Linda (Sam) Pratt of Huntington, West Virginia.
