Troy Lee Triplett, 85, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by his loving family. Troy was born March 27, 1934 in Greenup County, Kentucky a son of the late Johnie and Rebecca Poplin Triplett.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran, cofounder and life member of Greenup AmVets Post 95 and was a life member of the Greenup VFW Post 1168. Troy loved to play and sing bluegrass music.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Ellis Triplett, James Triplett and Robert Triplett; six sisters Dorothy Osborne, Mary Margaret Traylor, Sylvia McDermott, Rheba Gullet, Gracie Brown and Stella Slaughter.
He is survived by his loving longtime companion of 32 years Bonnie Miles: one son Teddy Lee (Dawanna) Triplett of Wurtland, Kentucky; two step-sons Billy (Leighanne) Conn of Tampa, Florida and Bobby (Julie) Conn of Cannonsburg, Kentucky; one daughter Kathleen (Joe) Young of Flatwoods, Kentucky; one brother Carl (Jerri) Triplett of Oldtown, Kentucky ; one sister Molly Harris of Worthington, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, December 13, 2019 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Chaplin Jim Smedley. Burial will be in Kirby Flatts Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky. Military rites will be performed by Marine Corps League Greenbo Detachment 1345.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday and one hour before the service on Friday.
