Katherine "Birdie" Mae Grubb

Katherine “Birdie” Mae Grubb, 90, of Wurtland, Kentucky went to be with the Lord March 30, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Grubb was born November 14, 1927 in Fort Gay, West Virginia a daughter of the late Orville and Carrie Salley Conley.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Birdie was the true definition of a mother and will be missed greatly. No child ever left her house hungry. She was a prayer warrior for the community.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Leslie Grubb; two brothers Donald Conley and Robert Conley; three sisters Myrtle Baldridge, Pauline Carpenter, and Imogene Bays.

Carrie (Larry) Morris of Wurtland, Kentucky

Loretta (Steve) Bryan of Wurtland, Kentucky

Alisa (Harold) Stepp of Wurtland, Kentucky

One brother Orville “Boy” Conley Jr. of South Shore, Kentucky

One sister Dottie (David) Poplin of Argillite, Kentucky

Twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Alfred “Jr.” Moore. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at rlrfuneralhome.com.
