Laura Mae Howard

Laura Mae Howard, 89, of Greenup, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Thursday February 8, 2018 at Boyd County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Laura was born November 22, 1928 in Jacksonville, Florida a daughter of the late Vera Mae Horton.

Laura was the owner of a restaurant at a truck stop in Sanford, Florida for several years. She was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Ceredo, West Virginia.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by Marvin Terrell Howard; they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2018; one son Courtney Howard; one brother Buddy Vaughn; and one sister Margie Murry.

She was survived by

One son Dwight David (Patty) Howard of Hillsboro, Oregon

Two daughters Betty J. (Bob) Shelton of Greenup, Kentucky

Mary Elizabeth (Mike) Little of Fredricksburg, Virginia

Ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren

One daughter in law Kathy Johnson of Wellston, Oklahoma

One brother Donny Vaughn of Lake Helen, Florida

Several nieces and nephews

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday February 16, 2018 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Shaun Howard. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday.
