George E. Norman


George E. Norman, 96, of Greenup, Kentucky died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Kentucky. He was born October 27, 1920 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Neff C. Norman and Fluella Fulton Norman. He was a retired Superintendent for Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, a past member and Master of Savannah Masonic Lodge No. 466, Guysville, Ohio, a member of Greenup Masonic Lodge No. 89, Greenup, Kentucky, a past member of Greenup Independent School Board, a member and past Elder of Greenup Christian Church. He served five years in the United States Air Force during World War II. He attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer and was placed on inactive duty in September, 1945. In former years, he was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Greenup Little League Baseball program.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Pastor Mike Dennis. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Kentucky.

Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 93 Kenova, West Virginia.

Visitation will be Friday 6:00 -8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Friday by Greenup Masonic Lodge #89

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Greenup Christian Church Building Fund.
